Healthy Homes

With just a few simple changes, most homes in Frome can be adapted into cooler spaces in summer, warmer havens in winter, and drier throughout the year - helping households to save money, cut carbon, improve health, and feel more comfortable every day.

Through Green and Healthy Frome (GHF), Healthy Homes provided free advice, practical support and guidance to help residents access grants or low-interest loans to reduce bills, tackle damp and futureproof their homes. Whether small changes like draught-proofing or bigger upgrades like insulation and solar panels, the project helped create homes that are better for wellbeing, wallets and the planet.

Whilst the GHF project has come to a close, this important support continues under Frome Town Council.

We are always looking for more Energy Advice Champions to join our wonderful team and volunteer their time with Healthy Homes.

Solar and Beyond

Interested in solar panels? Generating your own clean electricity can help lower your bills, reduce your carbon footprint, and protect against rising energy prices. It might even boost your home’s value.

Start by checking your solar potential using tools like Solar Wizard or Go Renewable. Look at when you use electricity - if it’s mostly in the evenings, battery storage could help you make the most of your solar energy.
