What if action on climate is also the best way to improve our health?
That’s the central question behind the Green and Healthy Frome 2025 Conference, taking place on Monday 3rd November 2025 at Wesley Church, Frome.
Over the past five years, a unique partnership between Edventure Frome CIC, Frome Medical Practice, and Frome Town Council has empowered thousands of residents to take climate action while enjoying the co-benefits for their health, wallets and for their community. Supported by the National Lottery’s Climate Action Fund, this pioneering programme has attracted national interest for its practical, people-powered approach.
The one-day conference invites healthcare professionals, policy makers and community changemakers to join this conversation, offering inspiring stories, interactive tours, and workshops – sharing practical tools, learning summaries and insights for creating greener and healthier communities.
A Day of Inspiration, Sharing and Action
The programme will be dynamic and immersive, sharing first-hand learning from healthcare, local government and community enterprise, with space for honest reflection and meaningful collaboration. Attendees will hear inspiring stories told through films, photographs and case studies, including the voices of those most directly impacted by the project. There will be opportunities to explore Frome through site visits, offering a chance to see how the work is being carried out alongside healthcare, civic and community partners.
Perhaps one of the highlights will be the chance to experience the project first-hand by joining a nutritious and locally sourced lunch at CANTEEN, Frome’s much-loved pay-what-you-can restaurant. The day will also feature tours and workshops on partnership working, communications and community engagement, and of course, the opportunity to network and build connections across sectors and regions.
More than a conference, this event is an invitation to be inspired, to learn, share and play a part in the growing movement that links climate and health to create stronger, more resilient communities.
The full programme will be published in October.
And if you need more incentive, the conference follows the Frome Independent Market (2nd November), why not make a weekend of it and enjoy the vibrancy of this pioneering town.
“This will be a conference like no other – dynamic, immersive, and rooted in real-life practice. It will show what’s possible when communities, healthcare and local government work together. We’ll be sharing not only our successes but also the challenges and lessons learned, so others can adapt and build on them. Our aim is to create a living legacy – in Frome and beyond – of action and system change that improves both climate and health.” Becky Lovegrove, Lead Project Manager, Green and Healthy Frome.
