A growing movement of people in Frome want to create a world where kids, young people and adults
can build positive futures around the environment and community, develop skills and resilience in
projects that are playful, wild and inclusive.
Super Roots Outdoor Kids is working on a Future Shed residency project with Edventure Frome as
part of Green & Healthy Frome to increase capacity for more green and healthy play in Frome and
surrounding areas.
Super Roots, led by Ellen Vellacott, is a not for profit that focuses on addressing inequality of access
to adventurous play & education. From Pop Up (Adventure) Play for Frome Town Council’s Play
Strategy, Play Wild & outdoor workshops in their rewilded Quarry, Design & Build sessions and the
Frome Go Kart Derby, Super Roots have also worked on outdoor provision with Frome Families for
the Future, Purple Elephant, Caravan Arts, The Pod, Terrestrial Arts and Shared Earth Learning
alternative education. Super Roots currently run a Nature Art Mural project and a weekly Campfire
Club (continuation of the Play Ranger sessions) at the Mount.
You’re welcome to join the meeting on Friday 25th April from 10am to 12 noon at Edventure Frome,
for a discussion around ways organisations and people can join forces or create a network to to share
and support existing ideas and projects – through collaborative partnerships or funding bids, linking
land or business owners with facilitators, artists, youth workers and providers. During the workshop,
artist Tamsyn Gill will create a live illustration of the discussion.
All interested are welcome – no experience needed. Book in at https://bit.ly/PlayfulPositive
